What does Google Meet do
Google Meet is a video conferencing service from Google. It is an enterprise-grade, secure video conferencing solution that makes it easy for users and businesses to make and receive one-to-one or group audio and video calls. It allows users to create ad hoc calls, and invite people by either sending them the invite link or giving them the meeting code to join easily and quickly, since a desktop installation is not required.
Why should you integrate Google Meet with Rocket.Chat
Integrate your Google Meet with Rocket.Chat to start a video call from within Rocket.Chat, without having to switch tools. The call encryption between all users ensures a secure video conference, and the accompanying chat provides an integrated video conferencing experience. To drive an engaging meeting, you can share your screen to present documents, spreadsheets, presentations or other browser tabs. For this integration to work, users are required to be logged in their Google accounts. Once you integrate your Google Meet with Rocket.Chat, you can:
🚀 Quickly and easily start Google Meet calls from Direct Messages, Channels, Teams, and Discussions in Rocket.Chat.
🚀 Record and list call details to check users who joined the call
🚀 Ring users before initiating a call to provide a visual and audio indicator for them
🚀 Maintain a record of the call history to improve your communication, service, and efficiency
The Google Meet app is currently in Beta and some features may not function as expected.
